K'Gari Clean Up

As part of the clean up 4WD QLD have secured free vehicle permits for the weekend and discounted barge fees. (cash only) We spend 4-6 hours collecting rubbish along the beach and sand dunes and the rest of the weekend is ours to explore. If the tides permit and we have an experienced trip leader I would like to attempt a trip up to the lighthouse this year.

4WD QLD will open bookings later in the year and they are limited to 350 vehicles across QLD clubs. All attendees must be a full FINANCIAL member to attend. This is not open to Temporary members or guests. Last year it was $15 per vehicle to secure your spot. 

This is a sample itinerary and subject to change when the 4WD QLD release the registration dates and final details.

6am Barge Friday morning from Inskip

check in at Cathedrals 1pm Friday

Either Saturday or Sunday morning clean up designated area.

Saturday afternoon complimentary sausage sizzle put on by KICU committee

Sunday night Dinner ($15/adult) and raffle draws at Cathedrals on Fraser

Monday, everyone goes home at their own leisure. 

Cathedrals on Fraser | Fraser Island Accommodation & Camping has some great options from unpowered sites to cabins. It is fenced for dingo safety and is where the KICU committee. I always book a permanent tent site for convenience, these and cabins book very quickly. Clean up attendess are usually given a discount at Cathedrals as well.
